COMPASS LOGINThe Urban Connection – The Female Counseling Plug Where Culture Meets Community “is a 6-week, interactive, psychoeducational counseling group, that explores the intersections of inner-city, BIPOC [Black, Indigenous, and People of Color] adolescent females, ages 15-19. With an emphasis on at-risk individuals and those with mental health concerns, the Urban Connection will utilize a person-in-environment curriculum as a lens for members to understand themselves individually and in combination with culture and communities to understand how various environments affect behaviors.” This facilitated group will employ a person-centered and humanistic approach focusing on oneself while empowering young women to make pragmatic choices when encountering social stigmas.
